Yep, this is the place…

Just as any motel offers inexpensive and accessible food and lodging for folks roaming the country, this motel provides musicians and artists easy and practical information for greater autonomy in the lifelong journey that is making music.

You already know that music is a powerful force. Therefore, it is musicians who technically use the force all the time. Now I don’t mean to get all Star Wars on ya but consider this excerpt from Wookieepedia explaining the Force:

Force-sensitive beings were able to tap into the Force to perform acts of great skill and agility as well as control and shape the world around them.

Hmmm sounds like something a musician would do now don’t it? But if this truth, as it were, were so obvious, then why is music the first thing that falls by the wayside for people when shit happens in their life? If you go to work even when you’re having bad day but you neglect your musical interests then you’re only perpetuating the phenomenon.

Tchaikovsky wrote “A self-respecting artist must not fold his hands on the pretext that he is not in the mood.”

Painter Chuck Close says “Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work.” I agree.

Stop waiting for the right time.

Lack of means, money or time are downright lame excuses for not wising yourself up whether it be in music theory, technique, recording or actually finishing a single song for once in your life. People are quitting everyday. What’s your excuse?

Wherever you are in your musical journey, you can always find a room at Cool Drifter Music Motel. I’m Blake, author and proprietor of the motel and I’m stoked you’re here.

Got a question? Got a bone to pick? Got a grilled cheese sandwich or a yeast infection from your girlfriend? That’s gross man—lose the dairy. You ain’t a baby are ya?

Your music and creativity are not worth deserting because of a little thin skin. Whatever is on your mind, there’s a solution. Talk to me.
